Islandia is an extremely stylish female that always catches peoples' eye. She has a pedigree that is packed - Augusto, Victor, Hemingway, Peruvian Aladdin. Her sire, Maple Brook Barnabus, is a 7-time Get of Sire winner. Islandia's exceptionally long staple no doubt comes all the way down from Victor, through her dam and maternal grandfather, Victor's Hemiaccoyo Casanova - also the sire of incomparable grey herdsire, Aussie .38 Special.
Islandia has a strong breeding background. She settled quickly and easily as a maiden and in 2010 presented a knockout Black Ice daughter, NeverSummer's McKenzie (MB). McKenzie's fleece is exceptional - dense, crimpy, bright, soft and uniform. In 2011 McKenzie's fleece was the Brown Color Champion at Fall Fest and Blue Ribbon winner in the AOBA National's Fleece Show. She also received the Blue Ribbon in halter at GWAS!
In 2011, Islandia presented us with NEVERSUMMER'S MARIPOSA, a truly beautiful white female sired by Crescent Moon's Uriah (this line produces a high percentage of females). Mariposa was 2nd Place at the 2012 Illinois Alpaca Show! She is super fine and uniform with an 11-month histogram of 13.6, 2.8, 20.9, 0.4% !
We chose to leave Islandia open over the winter last year and bred her to Eastwind Andino's Snowstorm this summer. This has proven to be a very strong genetic match-up. ESTATES STORMY ISLAND INTRIGUE, a handsome white male, was born 6/22/2013.
Islandia had ESTATES IMPERIAL JEWEL, a lovely MB female sired by Snowmass Satin Reserve XX, our true black herdsire with superior royal black lineage on 6/24/2014.
