Congratulations & many thanks to Cedar & Sage Alpacas for their purchase of Estates Wind Beneath My Wings at our inaugural ACE's Loaded Auction! She has impressed us since day one! It was hard to consign her but we selected from our best. Upon birth it was evident that “Wings” was special. Her fleece was so fine and dense, forming tiny bundles that felt like seed beads on her skin. Wings comes from the two most prestigious herdsire lines at ACE, Sakima and Pure Passion!

Wings, as we call her, is filling out beautifully. She still maintains a straight topline, correct proportions and proper angle to her legs. Her bite and jaw set are also correct. She moves fluidly and has a good balance through her frame. She has great coverage, a feminine head, and good substance of bone. Her fleece is what we love. Her extreme fineness, combined with excellent density is the hallmark of this fleece. She has a high frequency crimp with zipper-like bundling that is consistent down into her legs. The handle is divine, indicating superior uniformity of micron. She has the superior handle like her father, Sakima, and the excellent density and fineness from the Snowmass Pure Passion line.

Her sire, Patagonia Estates Sakima, is a gorgeous jet-black male with stylish, fine, bright, and amazingly dense fleece. His fabulous dense bundling goes from back to underbelly, and into his legs. He has a very soft handle, good substance of bone, excellent conformation, and magnificent head and leg coverage. These traits are clearly expressed in Wind Beneath My Wings. Genetics for Sakima include Snowmass Andean Midnight and Patagonia's Lennox. Sakima is a 6x Champion and has progeny recognized in the USA and Internationally. His offspring are still taking home banners in 2024!

Her dam, Estates Tanzanite has also been a great influence on Wings’ quality. She had two traits in the Top 5%, two in the top 10%, and two in the top 15% for the 2023 EPD calculation! She is the daughter of Snowmass Pure Passion, our outstanding multi-champion herd sire. Passion represents 30 years of passion in breeding for the perfect-colored fleece on the most beautiful-bodied alpaca by Snowmass Alpacas. Passion has sired numerous champions, and multi-champions, including 14x Champion & 3x Judge’s Choice winner, Estates Passionate Fever. Her dam is KCAF Royal Truffles, a grey foundation dam & favorite of ours. Wings has a small grey spot on her neck, possibly due to her grey ancestors.
