Congratulations and thank you to Sonoma Lavender Bnb Farm for their purchase of Patagonia's La Jefa! PATAGONIA'S LA JEFA La Jefa is a lovely true black female with excellent bloodlines. In 2004, she was assessed as an "A-" by Amanda VandenBosch, a Senior AOA Halter and Fleece Judge. Two of Alpaca de la Patagonia's top herdsires are in her genetic makeup - Patagonia's Neruda and Shackleton. La Jefa's sire, Patagonia's Neruda has fleece that is exotic in color and extremely fine. At 2.5 years of age, his histogram was: afd=17.4m, sd=3.6m, cv=20.5%, >30=0.7%. (If you are not familiar with Neruda, he sold for over $200,000 at the 2007 Futurity Auction). La Jefa's true black paternal grandsire, Shackleton 562, maintained a baby-fine fleece even at 9 years of age. Her dam, Hermana is an import from Chile (also from Alpaca de la Patagonia). Offspring: On 3/10/07, La Jefa gave birth to a medium brown female sired by the legendary Patagonia's Lennox. On 3/7/08, La Jefa had a light brown male sired by Patagonia's Dawson. On 6/3/09, La Jefa had a light fawn male sired by 2006 Futurity Blue-Ribbon winner, Patagonia's Ogilvie. On 8/18/10, La Jefa had Patagonia's Nisha, a lovely BB female sired by the Champion, Patagonia's Montero. On 9/20/12, La Jefa gave birth to a pretty DRG female sired by 4X Champion, Patagonia's Chief. Her daughter, Patagonia's Dusty won 1st Place & Color Champion at the 2013 Alpacapalooza show. She also won 2nd Place Ribbons from the 2013 MAPACA Jubilee, PAOBA Breeders Showcase, Empire Alpaca Extravaganza, New Jersey Alpaca Classic halter shows and the 2014 PAOBA Breeders Showcase. Dusty also received a Blue-Ribbon for performance at the 2013 New Jersey Alpaca Classic show. On 9/24/13, La Jefa gave us Patagonia's Keva, a beautiful MF female also sired by multi-champion herdsire, Patagonia’s Chief. Keva had 5 traits ranking in the Top 15% EPDs in 2022. On 6/22/18, La Jefa presented us with Estates La Jefa, a lovely BB female, again sired by Patagonia’s Chief. Estates La Jefa also had 5 traits ranking in the Top 15% EPDs in 2022.
