North Plains Alpaca's Peruvian Sydney is an excellent example of success in strategic breeding! We set out to breed Sydney’s fawn dam, Aconcagua to one of the “finest” dark males we could find, BMF Taos’ Zeppelin (owned by Delphi Alpacas). He is a male with extraordinary fleece qualities, consistent, low microns, low CV’s, and an impressive “zipper” style crimp character. Zeppelin may be a bay black, but it wasn’t the dark color that we were breeding for, it was fleece! Fleece! Fleece! Pedigree is an added bonus with Sydney as she comes from a line of well-known herdsires such as, Accoyo Legacy, El Moustachio, Peruvian Midnight Express, Caligula, Kilimanjaro, and Drambuie. A quality packed pedigree, beautiful fine fleece, along with natural good looks! For her next pairing, we selected our wonderful AspenAlpacas Earl Grey. Sydney is due in November 2025. Offspring: On 6/30/14, Sydney gave us ESTATES SILVER SIMONE, a beautiful MSG female sired by our Silverado's Peruvian Silver Fox. Estates Silver Simone started her show career in 2015 and is a multiple blue-ribbon winner (2017 Autumn Fleece Challenge, 2016 Heart of Virginia Alpaca Show, 2015 NEAOBA Alpaca Fall Spectacular, 2015 OABA Alpacafest, and 2016 Heart of Virginia Alpaca Show)! On 6/25/15, Sydney gave birth to ESTATES SUGAR PIE, a lovely beige female sired by our light fawn multi-champion herdsire, Patagonia's El Canto de Chile. On 9/14/16, Sydney gave us LAST MASTERPIECE OF COUNTRY ESTATES, a good-looking MSG male sired by Silverado's Peruvian Silver Fox. On 7/8/17, Sydney presented us with ESTATES SNOWY OWL HEDWIG, a handsome MSG male sired by Estates Gray Beard, our beautiful-fleeced male with the sought-after Aussie .38 Special genetics. On 9/13/19, Sydney gave birth to ESTATES TITAN'S EBONY BEAUTY, a pretty true black female sired by Estates Silver Titan, our wonderful medium silver-grey Color Champion out of Neversummer's US Steel. On 9/21/20, Sydney gave us ESTATES PERSEVERANCE, a wonderful white male sired by 8x Champion Estates Legendary Picasso. Estates Perseverance won a Blue Ribbon at the 2024 Houston Show: Halter. He also receive a 2nd Place ribbon for walking fleece and a 3rd Place ribbon for fleece at the 2024 Houston Show! On 10/4/21, Sydney gave birth to a nice-looking beige male also sired by our multi-champion Estates Legendary Picasso.
